On Sunday 27th March 2011 The Dulwich Sports Ground was formally re-opened by the Rt Hon Tessa Jowell MP. Presided over by Mr John Smith (Chairman of Southwark Community Sports Trust) more than 100 people attended including representatives of Southwark, Lambeth and Lewisham councils, the Amateur Football Association and Surrey County Cricket Club.
Tessa Jowell tweeted shortly after the event: "A huge boost for local sport & a great achievement".
John Smith commented, "The founding clubs of the Trust have committed funds and their volunteers contributed considerable time to re-open the facility. The SCST is a self financing organisation and we will seek to operate the facility with a mixture of volunteers and contractors".
Many people contributed to this event (and indeed to the re-opening in general) and in particular we would like to thank:-
